Notes: For the panel-stamp on the lower cover see E.Ph. Goldschmidt, Gothic and Renaissance Bookbindings, no. 68, pl. XXX. On the binding here the binder obviously had the panel-stamps too hot when they were pressed into the damp leather, especially so with the lower cover, making for scorched impressions. The panel for the upper cover, as well as some of the smaller single stamps, were too hot as well.
