Notes: The Huntington Missale Pataviense is quite a rare incunable, this being the only copy of the edition recorded in an American collection. Furthermore, only a small handful of copies survive outside the United States. It is an imposing volume, and in spite of the evident wear of time, its early grandeur shines through. Perhaps it is wishful thinking to offer this binding as an example from Asbach. For a longer discussion of the Asbach attribution for the binding, click here.
